From The Top Down
By Robert Mechling
On the serious side for a moment: One of the basic club concepts is that that everyone pays there our own way. Having said that, I realize that if one person has a question, there are others that have the same question. So let me attempt to clarify any confusion about raising club dues.
We have two annual dues rates, $25 (for an e-mailed newsletter) or $30 (for a newsletter sent by US Mail). The additional $5 was to cover printing and postage. But over the years the cost, of send a newsletters by US Mail, has risen from $5 to ≈ $20 per year. We’ll vote at annual Planning and Election meeting to raise the cost, of a membership, for those requesting a newsletter by US Mail only. The $25 e-mail membership won’t change. This is an extension of paying our own way. Were a small club, I would hate to see anyone leave over any misunderstanding, concern, or unanswered question. Please ask about any concerns you may have.
Back to the fun stuff: Next year is a big year for the club. Please plan to attend the annual Planning and Election meeting. Nothing new will happen, just the direction and activities for next year. Together we can make it a memorable year.
